Summer EP: recording about to begin.
You can check out all the songs we’ll be sifting through on our project page here.
I’m really excited to be working with Sam Bennett, who’ll be producing the sessions up here in Katikati. We’ll be laying down acoustic guitars, lead vocals and probably some gorgeous bv’s since Hannah Van Dorp just happens to be in the neighbourhood at the same time.
Then I’m entrusting the project to Sam and the uber talented musicians in Wellington who worked on ‘Down to the water’ (listen to that here).
Then it’ll be off to our old friend Geoff Duncan to mix and polish – and undoubtedly add his own touch of class.
If you get a chance to listen to some of the songs, I’m really excited about ‘Lazarus’ and ‘See how deep he loves’ – both coming out of John 11 – the latter is a co-write with Matt Chapman and Kirstin Harray. There are some songs that have grown out of ministry here at St Paul’s, like ‘Christ before me’, ‘These hands that hold me’ and ‘O Holy love’.
Take a listen to the demoes, let me know what you think. If you are so inclined, you could pray for our sessions starting next week. God bless – look forward to keeping you in the loop.
