These collages are playful explorations of the ordinary and often overlooked spaces that we are being called into to participate in God’s kingdom work. In the passage, Jesus sends his disciples out to the ‘ordinary places’ of people’s homes, not the grand religious spaces, and asks them to share in these stranger’s lives. Here the humble table has been transformed into a space not simply for eating, but for coming together and opening ourselves up to the lives of others. It is an invitation for us to step into the ordinary places and discover just how unordinary they can be.

I’m enjoying reading about One Voice, listening to the music and checking out the lovely artwork. May I use one of the paintings from the series “Glorious Tables” by Rebecca Philips on the opening screen for our worship service? To God be the glory and thanks very much from Memorial Baptist Church in Middlebury Vermont! Susan

Hi Susan, thanks for getting in touch. Yes you’re welcome to use the artwork. The art is released under a Creative Commons lisence that means you’re free to use them, providing you acknowledge the artist in doing so. Nice to hear from you! Just so you know, we’re in the process of working on an Illustrated Gospel for the book of Mark now, so stay tuned, there’s more coming!
