Mark 5:1-6:6 - When Death does Not Win

I Shouldn’t be Here

I Shouldn’t be Here

Poem – Neryl McCallum
Mark – 5:35 -42

I’ve been lying here in the dark
confused
I shouldn’t be here
but I can’t find a way out.

The dark isn’t scary,
not really,
it has just gathered around me
like fog gathers round a mountain,
but I know I shouldn’t be here
yet I can’t find a way out.

Muffled sounds reach me,
what are they?
Words, they are words.
They’re a long way off
but I know they’re for me,
I make myself listen.

‘Little girl, wake up’.

Yes, that’s it! That’s the way out.
I open my eyes.

We have set this website up to share the resources from the book ‘The Illustrated Gospel Project’,
plus the extra stuff that we couldn’t fit in the book.
But there is still room! Room for what you and your community of faith might create in response to God’s creative Word at work, and at play in your midst.
So if you create a drama, a song, a prayer or a responsive reading, we’d like you to share it.
