Mark 3:7-4:41 - Kingdom Stories that Stick

The Parable of the Sower / Are You Listening?

The Parable of the Sower / Are You Listening?

Song [Reflective] – Hannah Thompson-Holloway
Mark 4:1-20

Listen, what do you make of this?
The story of soil and seeds.
A farmer sowing seeds of truth,
What soil are we?

Are you listening?
Really listening?
We’ll see

Seeds scattered on solid ground,
Devoured, never begun.
What have you ignored today?
Rejected, not heard?

Are you listening?
Really listening?
We’ll see

Seed scattered on stony ground,
Sprouted, but without roots.
Where do you draw your strength?
Do you wither or grow?

Are you listening?
Really listening?
We’ll see

Seed scattered among the thorns,
Strangled, life was cut short.
Who are you listening to?
Letting influence you?

Are you listening?
Really listening?

Are you seeing but not percieving?
Do you hear but not understand?
Are you aligned with God’s Kingdom?
Oh

Seed scattered on good soil,
Flourished, producing more and more and more and more …

We have set this website up to share the resources from the book ‘The Illustrated Gospel Project’,
plus the extra stuff that we couldn’t fit in the book.
But there is still room! Room for what you and your community of faith might create in response to God’s creative Word at work, and at play in your midst.
So if you create a drama, a song, a prayer or a responsive reading, we’d like you to share it.
